An employee in this position will conduct lead work duties, maintain a valid Minnesota Boiler Chief C Engineer license, maintain a Class D Water Operator license for the facility, oversee operations for maintenance and repairs of boilers, HVAC systems, water systems and mechanical equipment at the Minnesota Veterans Home - Hastings Domiciliary. This position is required to conduct weekend/holiday rotations of boiler checks during the heating season.

The Minnesota Veterans Home in Hastings is a Domiciliary (DOM) which is an independent living community for Veterans. It provides a supportive environment that fosters a stable, healthy, and meaningful life for Veterans. Our rewarding program helps Veterans with their clinical, mental, chemical, and physical needs, and has the capacity to serve 195 Veterans between the Hastings and Minneapolis campuses. The Hastings DOM is located in the southeast metro with connecting highways for an easy commute. The beautiful 128-acre wooded campus includes mature oaks and pines, nature trails and biking paths overlooking the Vermillion River.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications Possess a current Minnesota Boiler Chief Engineer Grade C License Possess a Class D Water Operator License Ability to direct staff so that staff are able to follow instructions sufficient to carry out assignments in a safe and sufficient manner Knowledge of and skills in operating and maintaining low pressure boilers, air handling units, and associated equipment Skill in using hand and power tools and other trades equipment Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety measures related to trades work sufficient to safely and efficiently perform the job duties

Preferred Qualifications Experience repairing refrigeration and air conditioning equipment Experience using building automation systems Experience with fire suppression, fire detection, fire dampers, and fire doors Experience with carpentry, door and lock repair Possess additional licenses such as Universal Refrigeration, Power Limited Technician, and Plumbing,
