Additional information about the position: There are currently vacancies within the Saint Paul Fleet Services Division at the 891 Dale Street facility with options for repairing both light/heavy duty vehicles and equipment and Saint Paul Fire Department at the 1683 Energy Park Drive Public Safety Garage working on Fire Ladders, Engines, Squads and Ambulances.

Qualifications

Requirements may be met by ONE of the following options: Successful completion of a two year heavy truck and/or heavy equipment repair vocational program plus three years (1,500 hours per year minimum) of experience maintaining and repairing heavy trucks and/or equipment.

Successful completion of a two year automotive repair vocational program plus three years (1,500 hours per year minimum) repairing automobiles, trucks, and/or heavy equipment.

Successful completion of a documented, mechanical/repair apprenticeship program plus three years (1,500 hours per year minimum) of experience maintaining and repairing mechanical systems, automobiles/light duty vehicles, or heavy trucks and/or equipment.

Successful completion of a small engine or turf and grounds equipment vocational program plus three years (1,500 hours per year minimum) of experience performing maintenance and repairs on some of the following equipment classes; small engine/grounds/turf equipment, automotive/light duty vehicles, or heavy trucks and/or equipment.

Six years (1,500 hours per year minimum) of increasingly responsible experience performing maintenance and repairs on some of the following equipment classes: small engine/grounds/turf equipment, automotive/light duty vehicles, or heavy trucks and/or equipment.
