Position Overview:

AmeriCorps is a national community service program allowing individuals to give back to their community and get paid for it! VISTA stands for Volunteers In Service To America and is a subsection of AmeriCorps focused on building capacity for organizations directly working to fight income inequality. Through activities such as fundraising, grant writing, research, and volunteer recruitment, members gain professional experience and leadership skills.

The City of Saint Paul VISTA program's mission is to build capacity of organizations that provide affordable and accessible high-quality early childhood programs and build capacity of organizations responding to the economic fallout of the COVID-19 pandemic. A key aspect of our program is to promote professional development amongst members through collaboration and training opportunities.

In this position, you will work with city partners at The Free Book Buggie. The Free Book Buggie is a nonprofit with a mission to provide books to children and ignite a passion for reading that empowers each child to explore a world of opportunity. Terms & Program Benefits:
-One year of full-time service with rolling, monthly start dates -10 personal leave days & 10 sick leave days -Living stipend paid bi-weekly distributed evenly across the service term totaling $17,552.08 -Healthcare

Responsibilities

Job duties include but not limited to:
Administrative Process Improvements:
-Analyze the organization’s online document storage system on Google Drive
-Implement an updated email inbox system -Develop and document best practice processes -Researching and compiling data for the website and sharing with UX/UI staff to update

Donor Relations/Management:
-Review tracking systems/database
-Creating and developing a donor tracking system -Creation of a template and the processes for a newsletter

Develop Financial Resources:
-Identify resources for fundraising and implement a tracking system -Draft and submit proposals, plan ongoing fundraising -Develop a fundraising plan to support the addition of paid staff on an ongoing basis and research

Community Outreach:
-Create tracking document for community outreach/flow chart to enhance current database -Develop and implement partner survey -Research best practice in community outreach and engagement and craft recommendations for new programs to reach more children
