Performs expert level professional work to address civil rights, human rights, and labor standards concerns, to include investigations into violations of federal Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and housing law, state human rights laws, labor standards laws, the City of Saint Paul ordinance 183.18, or related employment regulations. Manages delegated projects for the Saint Paul Human Rights & Equal Economic Opportunity Department (HREEO). Serves as a subject matter expert involving City directives for human rights advocacy as established by HREEO. Assists with creating and executing plans that advance human rights investigation work, labor standards investigation work, and educates the public. Supervises staff performing the variety of civil and human rights duties; leads special projects and best practices research; and provides policy and procedure improvements as delegated. Conducts the most complex investigations pursuant to civil rights, human rights, and labor standards. Performs other related duties and responsibilities as required.

Qualifications

Law degree from an accredited law school. Two years of progressively responsible professional experience in: civil rights and labor standards.

OR

A Bachelor's Degree in Civil Rights/Human Rights, Social Work, Public Policy, Public Administration, Business Administration, or related degree. Four years of progressively responsible professional experience in civil rights and labor standards.

OR

Two years of relevant college coursework. Six years of progressively responsible professional experience in civil rights and labor standards.
