Position: Geographic Sales Manager – Flooring Adhesives

Location:  Virtual, USA (Midwest and Northeast territory)

The Geographic Sales Manager is expected to retain and grow HB Fullers’ market share and customer base in a defined geography or market. They are accountable for achieving annual sales and profit targets/budgets. This person will coach, manage, and develop their sales team to deliver business results and improve our customers’ experience and loyalty. They will achieve the market growth stated in line with the strategic plan and consistently implement pricing in line with business unit pricing policy. This person will serve as a subject matter expert achieving results through application and knowledge of the HB Fuller sales and value selling processes.

The Geographic Sales Manager’s purpose is to create competitive advantage for HB Fuller by enabling the sales team to operate at their full potential.  Winning the right way.

Responsibilities

Primary Duties:

  • Define assigned product strategy to include both short term and 5-year strategic direction- STRAP with assign SBU leader for product market segment
  • Develop platform level roadmaps to improve the company’s capability to address customer problems and unmet needs
  • Implement appropriate collaboration with R&D teams to develop, monitor and recommend adjustments to the product line based on market conditions and trends
  • Conduct market research and studies and communicate and deliver awareness to organization
  • Manage the product portfolio life cycle, along with assigned global and regional product line management, including development, validation, readiness, launch and execution activities in support of the business strategy
  • With direction from the Product Manager, Sales Manager or Business Director, generate customer quotations, compile price lists and special pricing forms
  • Active participation in conferences, tradeshows, industry and customer sponsored programs and events. Maintain databases / mailing lists – provide updates on advertising and sales efforts
  • Identify and lead key projects to reduce the complexity and improve the profitability of the product lines by working with Finance, Costing, R&D and Operations to make sure we understand our true costs to produce products and that the costs are updated in our systems so that pricing strategy can be executed to meet profitability goals of assigned product line
  • Work with Procurement and Technical teams to ensure we are using the most cost-effective raw material combinations, and any raw material cost savings opportunities are implemented as quickly as possible to maximize the savings potential. Work with sales to review S&OP monthly and annual and multi-year strategic forecast are communicated for immediate and long-term capacity review

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering, Chemistry, Business, or Marketing
  • Advanced level of business acumen
  • 1+ years of experience in a B2B environment in Technical, Marketing, or a Supply Chain function in our industry
  • Advanced Excel capabilities
  • Advanced ability to communicate and influence across hierarchies and functions
  • Self-motivated problem solver
  • Ability to travel up to 40-50%, which could involve international
