We are seeking a Marketing Director to be the commercial leader of the Small Business Solutions (“SBS”) business.  This is a new role that will be joining our team at a very exciting time – with the ability to build a new B2C program to unlock substantial growth.

The successful candidate will be a thought leader, providing category insights and recommendations to grow our business and our customer’s categories.  This role is responsible for utilizing market, industry and customer insights and data, to develop compelling and actionable category growth content and recommendations.  This role will help influence both our SBS strategies as well as our partner customer’s strategies, while establishing SBS as a preferred partner and solutions provider.  This role will report into the VP, Global Marketing and ideally located in St. Paul MN, Greensboro NC, or Atlanta GA with the option of remote for the right candidate. 

Responsibilities

What You Will Do:

  • Work closely with executive leadership and lead the development of a new SBS business.
  • Creates and manages the new SBS program, product assortment, product pricing, product display, marketing, planning and sales and profit strategy for the new program.
  • Lead the assessment of new opportunities where Ecolab can leverage the new program for the SBS business.
  • Establish short and long-term strategic plans and innovation roadmap for the business.
  • Work closely with the marketing research team to develop category insights on current and future growth drivers, to inform customer and SBS category growth strategies.
  • Develop relationships with key customer partners, to gain an understanding of key strategies and category needs, to provide objective growth category growth recommendations.
  • Build a team to support the new SBS business.
  • Identify and lead category management initiatives.
  • For partner customers, be a key contributor to annual planning and strategic customer engagements
  • Develop conversion plans and measure effectiveness of assortment recommendations.
  • Position the category management function as a competitive advantage for SBS.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • MBA Degree
  • 10 years of professional work experience
  • 7 years of professional marketing, category management or category analysis experience
  • Prior CPG category management experience
  • Prior experience in merchandising, planning and analysis
  • Experience in developing and launching new products/services
  • Unwavering focus on delivering results
  • Experience leading and building strong performing teams
  • Ability to translate data and insights into compelling, easy to digest content and story telling
  • Ability to synthesize multiple data sources to identify profitable growth opportunities

Preferred Qualifications:  

  • Industrial, Office, Hospitality or JanSan / Janitorial business-to-business (to-consumer) experience
  • Demonstrated initiative and leadership skills; experience in developing vision and setting marketing strategy, planning, critical thinking, orchestrating cross-functionally, overseeing multiple project elements and proven track record of results
  • Strong communications skills including the ability to effectively articulate and advocate viewpoints to executive leadership and ability to write compelling executive level presentations
