We are looking for an individual who wants to be part of a growing team that provides exceptional service to our clients, and we have an immediate full-time opportunity for a Scientist within our Environmental Practice Center located in St. Paul, MN. This position will work with experienced staff members to receive on the job, project-specific work requirements. However, the remainder of the work will be relatively independent with daily/weekly project reporting and coordination with management to complete project tasks and deliverables.
Responsibilities
This position will be responsible for conducting fieldwork assignments, including:
Completing Phase I and Phase II Environmental Site Assessments including soil, soil vapor and groundwater sampling, compliance Audits, Response Action Plans, construction oversight, and documentation for the above referenced project types Directing drill crews, monitoring and documenting soil boring exploration programs, preparing boring logs, collecting soil samples Providing support for the preparation of Environmental Site Assessments
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in Geology, Hydrogeology, Environmental Science, or related Two (2) to Five (5) years of experience Must possess strong technical writing skills and verbal communication skills Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to provide own means of reliable transportation for occasional day trips Ability to travel as needed for team meetings, client consultations, on-site inspections/visits, etc.; Occasional overnight travel could be required Ability to walk and climb over rough terrain and carry up to 40 pounds
Preferred Qualifications:
Master of Science degree in similar field above 2+ years experience in Environmental consulting Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word) Previous experience with construction oversight, soil, soil vapor, and groundwater sampling Working knowledge in GPS and GIS applications OSHA 40-Hour HAZWOPPER Safety Training Construction Site Management, Erosion and Stormwater Management Certification
